Lynn - Anna (Simopoulos) Psarreas, 64, of Lynn, passed away unexpectedly on January 31, 2026, and the world has been darker ever since.
Anna was born on September 29, 1961 to Van and Joanne Simopoulos in Lynn, MA. When she became a big sister, she took her role seriously, and fiercely loved both Mary and Elaine. They moved to West Peabody for a time, where Anna graduated from Peabody Veterans Memorial High School, but she remained a Lynn Legend at heart.
After graduating from Burdett College in Boston, MA, Anna married her former husband, but forever friend, Konstantinos Psarreas, and moved back to Lynn.
Together, Anna and Costa founded Costa's Painting Company and owned several properties in Lynn. Anna befriended her tenants and helped them whenever she could. Whether they needed clothes, refugee assistance, or even a shoulder to cry on, Anna was always there.
And wherever Anna went, she surely had her daughter, Tricia, in tow. Anna was more than just a mother-she was a best friend, a role model, and an inspiration. She took on the same role with Tricia's friends-including her would-be-husband, Jeff- and became a second mom to all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
As one such person decreed, Anna was also "Queen of the Internet." She mastered technology without any formal training and she learned how to do everything. She designed houses. She tracked down long lost family histories. She created custom MySpace (yes, MySpace) pages for musicians, businesses, and friends.
It was through her MySpace era that Anna ultimately met the love of her life, Mike Pougounas. What began as a friendship evolved into the truest, deepest love. Anna was Mike's partner in every way. She created artwork for his albums, designed posters for his gigs, and even wrote two pieces that he turned into beautiful songs.
Anna was a beacon of light for all who knew her. She was selfless, always helping friends and strangers alike. She was strong-so strong that she defied the medical odds of what science deemed possible. She was funny, creative, beautiful, brilliant, and unique. She lived her life to the fullest and she was so very grateful for every moment of it.
Anna's legacy is one of goodwill, happiness, and love. The people she left behind will think of her every time they perform a random act of kindness, get lost in a really good song, or think back on the many memories she emblazoned in their minds and in their hearts.
Anna will live on through her beloved daughter Tricia Psarreas Murray and her treasured son-in-law, Jeff Murray, both of Lynn; her cherished parents Van and Joanne (Yiakas) Simopoulos of Peabody; her dear sister Mary Simopoulos of Peabody; her cherished fiancé Mike Pougounas of Athens, Greece; and her sweetest fur baby, Anya. She will also be greatly missed by her godson and nephew, Bobby and his girlfriend Nicole of Kenmore, Washington; her nephew Mikey and his wife Alandra of Peabody; her honorary second daughter, Marcy of Lynn, and her many friends and family members worldwide. She will be reunited with her predeceased grandparents Christos and Mary (Patrikas) Yiakas of Lynn, her baby sister Elaine Simopoulos of Peabody, and the many loved ones she lost too soon.
Service Information: There will be a celebration of Anna's life from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 9, 2026 at Solimine Funeral Home on Broadway in Lynn. A final farewell will follow on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at Saint George Greek Orthodox Church in Lynn.
