­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­Anna Rigney was born April 3rd, 1937 and departed this life Monday, June 3rd, 2024, reaching the age of 87 years. She was the daughter of the late Guffey Willie Dobbs and Fronie Ellen (Kidd) Dobbs.
She is survived by 1 daughter, Carolyn Brumbaugh; 4 sons, Billy Jo "BJ" Rigney, William Reed Rigney, Clyde Ray Rigney, and James Rigney; 1 brother, Cecil Dobbs; 1 sister, Jewell Bell; 11 grandchildren, Lora Ann Meredith, Billy Lee Rigney, Kristi Short, Heather Vaughn, Jeremy Lair, Samuel Lair, Clarissa Howard, James Corey Rigney, Logan Rigney, David Rigney, and Jessi Wright; 19 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Elizabeth, and Miranda Meredith, Chloe, Carter, Brenson, Hadleigh, and Madison Rigney, Kayson Short, Dustin, and Caitlynn Lair, Makenna Branscum, Trenton, and Landon Upchurch, Ayden Mayfield, Ivy Kate Rigney, Gracie Wright, and Emma Lindsey; and 2 great-great grandchildren, Skylar Meredith and Penelope Meredith; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert William Rigney; 2 sons, Robert Kay Rigney, and Ronnie Gene Rigney; 6 brothers, Hershel, Wilburn, Grady, Joe Lewis, Clyde, and Benny Dobbs; 1 great grandchild, Niykee Rigney; and 2 sisters, Lula Mae Jones, and Edna Sexton.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 8th 2024, from 5PM – 8PM in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 9th 2024, at 2PM at the Hickey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Dobbs Cemetery.
