Anna Marie Roberts

Anna Marie Roberts January 22, 1943 - September 19, 2025 (82 years) Anna Marie Roberts (nee: Bozzelli) passed away peacefully on Friday, September 19, 2025. She was the beloved wife and best friend of William Phillips Roberts, Jr., married on September 2, 1967, just over 58 years ago. Anna Marie is survived by her husband, Bill, and their Pomchi puppy, Toni. Annie is also survived by her brother-in-law, John J. D'Angelo; niece Lisa Bozzelli Mutter (Michael) and nephew William Bozzelli (Kristen), who were treated as if they were her own children; as well as other nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors who will forever appreciate and miss her feisty personality. She was predeceased by her parents, Louis and Stella Bozzelli (nee Vignola), as well as her brothers, Alfred C. Bozzelli (Theresa), Charles F. Bozzelli (Jean), and Reverend Joseph V. Bozzelli; along with her sister, Rosemary D'Angelo (John). Anna Marie attended St. Mary Magdalen de Pazzi Grade School in Philadelphia and is a 1960 graduate of Saint Maria Goretti High School in South Philadelphia, where she was a student of her Aunt Mary, Sister Joseph Vincentine Vignola, F.M.S.C. After graduation, she worked at the Philadelphia Naval Hospital until 1970. Then Annie became an employee of Acme Market and a member of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union, Local 27, until her retirement in the early 2000s. Bill and Annie spent their retirement years in their waterfront home along Still Pond Creek on the Eastern shore of Kent County, Maryland, where they lived for more than 30 years before moving this past year to Woodstown. Anna Marie and her sister Rosemary cared for their mother Stella and Aunt Rose Vignola in their final years of life, providing needed comfort and care. Furthermore, Annie had a passion for rescue dogs; she and Bill adopted many through the years, notably Ziggy Stardust III, a tribute to the late David Bowie. Annie enjoyed life to the fullest, enjoying the best of everything, and was generous to a fault, always there for her family and friends. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Humane Society (local or national) in Anna Marie's memory.
