Rose M. Solano

Rose Marie Solano, age 101 years, a life-long resident of Pedricktown, NJ, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles Viglino and Rose (nee Carbone) Viglino.

Over the years, Rose worked on her family's farm, at Wolfe's Sewing Factory on Harmony Street in Penns Grove and High Hopes Nursery in Pedricktown. She was a member of Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church in Carneys Point where she sang in the choir. She was a member of the Ladies Auxillary at the Logan Volunteer Fire Company and was also a member of the Senior Center at the Second Baptist Church of Pedricktown. Rose loved gardening and was an avid Phillies fan, her favorite player was Jimmy Rollins. She spent 101 1/2 years touching the lives of so many, was tremendously loved by her family and friends, and will be remembered as a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Rose is survived by her daughter Phyllis Shields and her husband James; her grandchildren Dawn Quill and her husband Michael, Mark Shields and his wife Karen, Kim LeFevre and her husband Greg and Michael Shields and his wife Tanya; her great grandchildren Violet and James Quill, Jason LeFevre and Lauren, Emily and Alex Shields. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Nicholas Matthew Solano and six siblings.

Services will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at Adams Funeral Home, 64 Broad Street, Woodstown, NJ 08098. There will be a visitation starting at 10 AM leading to the funeral service at 11 AM. Entombment will follow the service at Eglington Cemetery in Clarksboro, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Rose's memory to the charity of one's choosing.
