Anna C. Schmidt, age 99, a resident of Morton Grove, IL for 65 years, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, May 28, 2024. She was born May 23, 1925 in Chicago, IL, a daughter of Joseph and Frances Sanasardo. Anna was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Donald C. Schmidt; her cherished grandson Timothy Carlson; and three sisters, Margaret, Madeline Polera (Jim), and Rosemary Grace (John). She is survived by her four children, Margaret Carlson (Richard Nolan), Joseph Schmidt (PJ), Mary Gonka (Ronald), and Donald Schmidt (Diane); two brothers, Paul Sanasardo and Vincent Sanasardo (Barbara); eight grandchildren, Elizabeth Anderson, Catherine Bruining (Scott), Jaime Patterson (John-Mark), Rose Towers (Frank), Anthony Gonka (Caitlin), Emily Pappa (Matt), Anne Ingratta (Sam), and Jacob Schmidt (Katy); sixteen beloved great-grandchildren; and many neighbors and friends. Anna will be remembered for her immense love of family, her Sunday spaghetti dinners, and her ability to befriend everyone she met. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Friday, May 31, 2024 at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church (All Saints Parish) 8149 W. Golf Rd., Niles, IL. Funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m. at the church, with a graveside service following at St. Joseph Cemetery in River Grove.
