Obituary of Anna Lorene Shute
Anna 'Lorene' Shute passed away on April 25, 2024, exactly 6 years to the day of the departure of much loved husband, Kenneth. She was born July 10, 1930 in Yanceyville, NC to Addie Hubbard Knight and Walter Knight. She married Ken in 1958 and they had 60 years together before his passing. They traveled together and raised a family while in the Air Force for 20 years and then settled in Ken's family home in Searsport. They purchased and ran Belfast Glass Company out of the garage for many years.
Lorene was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Kenneth, her daughter, Vickie, her great granddaughter Autumn, her sister Bobbie Jean Cassidy and brother-in-law Jack Williams.
She is survived by: brothers Robert Knight (Gail) of North Carolin, Gary Graham of Florida and sister Nancy Williams of Pennsylvania; daughters Sharon Lanpher (Warren) and Karen Shute (Steve Larochelle) of Searsport; Grandchildren Blaine Lanpher (Shawna) and Kevin Shute; Great Grandchildren Evan and Rhiannon Lanpher, Levi Farrell and April, Brayden, Paradise and Isabelle Shute; Great great grandchild Leland Lanpher.
Lorene spent many years doing the things that made her happiest: spending time with family, camping, snowmobiling, winters in Florida, Bingo, dances and poker nights with many friends. Her favorite past time became shopping and we went often. Ice cream and a shopping trip kept her going and brought her joy in her declining years.
She was an amazing person and mom and is missed so much. She has found peace and for that we are forever grateful.
There will be a private burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Searsport. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family on her tribute wall.
