Anna Greco Stella

Anna Greco Stella, age 90, peacefully passed away on October 27, 2025, at her home in Sharon, Massachusetts, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Lamezia Terme, Italy, on October 9, 1935, to the late Guiseppe and Maria (Volpe) Greco. Anna grew up and was educated in her hometown, where she loved spending time with her extended family, many of whom were her neighbors.

Anna married her beloved husband, Vincenzo Stella, on January 21, 1956, in Lamezia Terme. The next year, they immigrated to the United States, first arriving in New York before settling together in Boston’s West End. When they arrived in Boston, Anna started working in the garment industry as a stitcher for several clothing companies. They spent many years in the city, living in the North End for a time before raising their son, Tony, in the Brighton neighborhood. Once they made their home in Brighton, Anna worked at Forecaster Coats of Boston, making sure every jacket she worked on was sewn and assembled just right.

In 1996, Anna and Vincenzo decided to leave the busy city life behind and move to the quiet town of Sharon, mainly so they could be closer to their grandchildren. Anna retired four years later and loved spending her days near her family. She especially enjoyed working in her yard, tending her vegetable gardens, and growing the best tomatoes. She would often jar her homegrown tomatoes to make her family's favorite sauce; a recipe passed down through the generations. Besides cooking, Anna loved sewing and knitting, making blankets for everyone in her family to enjoy.

Cherished grandmother of Anna Begolli and her husband, Herion, of Foxborough, Sandra Stella of Sharon, and Vanessa Cruise and her husband, Nicholas, of Mansfield; and great grandmother of Valentina and Thomas Cruise.

Sister of Elizabeth Pileggi and her husband, Gennaro, of Italy, Maria Greco of Sharon, the late Angelina De Fazio and her late husband, Guiseppe, and the late Vincenzo Greco.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Anna's visitation on Thursday, October 30th, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole.

All are invited to gather in the funeral home on Friday, October 31st, 2025, at 9:30 am prior to Anna's Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated in Our Lady of Sorrows, 59 Cottage Street, Sharon, at 10:30 AM. Entombment will take place at Saint Michael's Cemetery in Roslindale.
