Anna M. Stone

Anna Marie Stone, 68, of Galesburg, Illinois, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 with her family by her side.
Anna was born July 30, 1956 in Galesburg, the daughter of Ruth Adeline (Tracy) and Richard Lawrence Wells. She married Richard E. Atwater and had one son. They later divorced. Anna is survived by her son, Richard "Bub" Atwater of Galesburg; her two beloved grandsons, C-Jay and Kyle Atwater; two sisters, Sharon Day and Kathy Atwater both of Galesburg; one nephew, Randy Atwater, Jr. of Galesburg; one niece, Kathy (Mike) Doney of Galesburg; and her former daughter-in-law, Lorie Atwater of Galesburg. Along with her parents, Anna was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Randy Atwater; numerous aunts and uncles; and her beloved dog, Billy.
Anna worked for many years at Maytag in Galesburg. She was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church, enjoyed playing bingo, and spending time with family and friends.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Bethel Baptist Church, 1196 N. Academy St., Galesburg, Illinois. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 20, 2024 at Bethel Baptist Church. Pastor Chad Torrison will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
