Anna Elizabeth Strong, age 92, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025, at Frankfort Regional in Frankfort, Kentucky. She was born on December 21, 1932, to the late Silas Grigsby and the late Sylvania Terry Grigsby. Anna proudly graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Charleston in West Virginia, after which she devoted herself to teaching at Dacota Elementary School. Her unwavering faith was an integral part of her life as a dedicated member of the Pentecostal Church of God. With a passion for nurturing life, Anna found joy in cultivating vibrant vegetable and flower gardens that blossomed with color and fragrance. Her kitchen was often filled with the delightful aroma of homemade desserts, a true testament to her love for cooking and sharing sweet treats with family and friends. Anna's warmth and generosity touched the lives of many, but nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a special way of making everyone feel loved and valued. In her downtime, Anna enjoyed immersing herself in the soulful melodies of George Jones and the heartwarming tunes of country music, which echoed her kind-hearted spirit and love for life. In addition to her parents, Anna is preceded in death by her husband, David William Strong; five brothers: William Grigsby, Lowell Ray Grigsby, James Pete Grigsby, Jesse Paul Grigsby, and Ted Messer; and two sisters: Drucilla Faye Cox and Pearl Sue Grigsby. She is survived by two sons: Ricky David (Carolyn) Strong and Timothy (Gail) Strong, both of Frankfort; one daughter: Vicki (Larry) Williams of Frankfort; one sister: Rachel Louise Grigsby of Tribbey; nine grandchildren: Larry Richard Williams, Jr., Kristy Lynn (Dale) Spicer, Larissa Kay (JohnMark) Rhody, Candace (Randall) Combs, Chelsey (Nick) Young, Timberly (Freddie) White, Brian (Mary Francis Smith) Strong, Brandi Mitchell, and Lucia Lee Lafferty; twenty four great-grandchildren; and ten great great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services will be held immediately following visitation at 1:00 P.M. Burial will be held at Stanton Cemetery with Larry Williams, Sr., Larry Williams, Jr., Jason Middleton, Aaron Williams, Larry Allan Williams, Austin Johnson, Matthew Spicer, and James Rhody serving as active pallbearers. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home of Stanton.
