Anne Catherine Clarke of Cary, North Carolina died peacefully in her home on February 19th after a valiant battle with throat cancer at the age of 76. She battled many ailments over the past 15 years and finally made her way into heaven.
Anne was born on September 23rd, 1947, to Ray and Marie Snogles in North Syracuse, NY. After graduating from Catholic high school, she went to work at the telephone company.
Anne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She is survived by her husband, Gerald R Clarke, daughter, Elaine (Tom) Hankins, son, Kevin (Angela) Clarke, son, Jeff (Stephanie) Clarke, and grandchildren, Kyle, Caitlyn, Olivia, and Josie, sister Mary (Tom) Hucko, aunt, Anne Casper, and nieces and nephews from the Syracuse area.
She met Gerald while he was studying Russian at Syracuse University while in the Air Force. They wed in July of 1969 and soon after moved to Kansas where they started a family. From there they resided in St. Joseph Missouri, Lexington Kentucky, and finally Cary North Carolina where they have lived since 1985.
Anne worked at Vonnie B. Smith Orthodontics as an Orthodontic Assistant for several years. She later resigned to spend time as a homemaker. Anne loved animals and had many dogs and birds throughout the years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, either at home or at a favorite local haunt in town.
Anne's fun-loving personality and kind heart will be forever missed.
There will be a short service to celebrate her life on Thursday, February 29th at 10am at Bryan Lee Funeral Home on Wake Forest Rd. in Raleigh NC.
