Anne Davis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Amory Funeral Home, Inc. - Yorktown from Sep. 22 to Sep. 23, 2025.
Anne Davis passed away in her home at sunrise on September 19 th, 2025, surrounded by loving family and birdsong.

Anne was born in Philadelphia, PA to John Tracey and Donna Rose Davis on October 4 th, 1952.
She was the fourth of seven siblings, and was raised in Levittown, PA. She attended Neshaminy High School in Bucks County, PA and graduated in 1970. She graduated from Christopher Newport College in Newport News, VA in 1992 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration.

Anne spent her career and life serving others, working at the former non-profit helpline Contact Peninsula, directing the service agency Homebase of the Virginia Peninsula, and ending her career with twenty-three years of federal service with the Department of Housing and Urban Development as a Community Builder and later Senior Management Analyst.

Anne lived out her belief that all humans are God's children worthy of love and grace, as demonstrated through her extensive volunteer work as an active member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, including serving in the Handbell and Children's choirs, Easter Egg Project, Food Pantry, Sunday School, Parish Council, and the Good Samaritan program. When she was not serving others she enjoyed gardening, reading, completing puzzles, watching Masterpiece Theater shows, baking beautiful cakes and cookies, cross-stitching, traveling the world with her two daughters and doting on her many pets over the years. She brought joy, kindness, music, and light to this world, giving selflessly and fully of her talents and heart.

Anne is predeceased by her parents, John Tracey and Donna Rose Davis, her older brother Michael, and her older sister Laura. She is survived by her daughters Elizabeth Greene (Jason Weiss) and Eleanor Kuszmar (Aaron), her granddaughter Sarah Weiss, her ex-husband and father of her children David Greene and his wife Carolyn Tripp, her brother Mark Davis (Kathy), her sisters Allison Sterner (Bill), Andrea Rothera (Robin) and Martha Radcliff, and a host of loving family and friends. Her legacy of love and service will live forever in the lives she touched and in our hearts.

A Memorial Service and reception will be held at St. Luke's United Methodist Church (300 Ella Taylor Road, Yorktown, VA 23962) on Friday September 26th at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to the St Luke's Easter Egg Fund. Easter Egg Funds are used to make a tangible difference in someone's life in the local Peninsula community. This ministry and service was dear to Anne's heart.
