Anne M. Beatty Essig, 90, of Exeter Township, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2026.
She was the wife of Paul T. Essig Sr. Esq., with whom she celebrated 63 years of marriage.
Born in Philadelphia City, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Dorothy Lonergan Beatty. Anne graduated from Little Flower High School in Philadelphia and Alvernia University with her Bachelor of Arts in education. Anne was a teacher at St. Catharine of Siena School for over 20 years and was a member of St. Catharine of Siena R.C.C.
Anne was preceded in death by her siblings, Dorothy Young, Marie McBride, and Charles Beatty.
In addition to her husband, Anne is survived by her children, retired Navy Captain, Paul T. Essig Jr., husband of Kathleen, Ligonier; Timothy W. Essig, husband of Christine, Lititz; Dr. Andrew M. Essig, husband of Christine, Allentown; the Rev. Edward J. Essig, Shillington; Paula M. Mohutsky, wife of Michael, Mountain Top; and Regina S. Scanlon, wife of Mark, Bath, Maine. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and her sister, Margaret Beatty.
Visitation with family and friends will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11 a.m. in St. Catharine of Siena R.C.C., 4975 Boyertown Pike, Reading.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church memorial fund at the above address.
Interment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, 3139 Kutztown Road, Reading.
