Anne Heineman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lee-Ellena Funeral Home on Dec. 17, 2025.
Anne Marie (Pollack) Heineman, age 58, of Canton, Michigan, peacefully passed away on December 16, 2025, after an extended illness.

Anne was born on November 2, 1967, to Thomas and Mabel Pollack in Detroit, Michigan. She graduated from Regina High School in 1985 and went on to pursue her lifelong passion for learning. Anne earned a Master of Arts in Communication Sciences & Disorders / Speech-Language Pathology from Eastern Michigan University and a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Madonna University.

After completing her education, Anne devoted her career to helping others as a speech-language pathologist. She worked in a variety of settings, including specialized rehabilitation facilities supporting individuals recovering from traumatic brain injuries, as well as hospitals and skilled nursing facilities. To those who worked alongside her and to the patients she served, Anne was known as a therapist who went beyond the clinical - never giving up on her patients and approaching each person with deep care, compassion, and unwavering dedication. Her work brought her profound joy and fulfillment. Anne lived her life in service to others. Compassion was not only something she spoke about - it was something she practiced daily. She was deeply inquisitive about life, always seeking to learn, understand, and grow, and she carried that curiosity into the way she loved and served those around her.

Anne gave quietly and generously, often without anyone knowing, guided by a genuine desire to help others and meet needs wherever she saw them.

Anne was a loving mother, sissy, auntie, and friend, known for her deep capacity for love, loyalty, and faith. Anne's love for Jesus guided her life and shaped the way she cared for those around her. Above all else, Anne's greatest joy and most cherished role was being a mother to her son, Jack. Guiding, supporting, and loving him brought her more happiness than anything else in her life. Jack was the center of her world and the source of her deepest joy.

Anne was also a beloved sister to Karen and a loving aunt to Alex, Amanda, and Adam, with whom she shared close and meaningful bonds.

She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Pollack; her mother, Mabel Isabella Pollack; and her brother, Timothy Pollack. Anne is survived by her son, Jack Heineman; her sister, Karen Keay; her niece, Amanda Han (Jake); her nephews, Adam Keay and Alex Keay (Shayne); and her great-niece, Lilah.

Anne will be remembered for her servant's heart, quiet generosity, and the deep love she shared with those fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy lives on through the lives she touched, the compassion she showed, and the love she gave so freely.

We shared a lot of great memories ... from the many NYEs we spent together with you and Kurt, our weddings, the trip to DC, camping in Nashville and the trips with our kids to Pentwater. You were a special part of our family. We have lots to remember you by but you are sure going to be missed. Rest in peace Anne. We love you!

I met Anne at Special Tree Rehab in Romulus. She was devoted to all the Rehab patients at Special Tree and to myself. She helped me at Special Tree cope with my injuries including my loss of memory from my accident/head injury. We had a bond that was special indeed. We both attended St. Joan of Arc elementary school. Anne attended Regina High School next door to Notre Dame HS in Harper Woods. We both attended EMU in Ypsilanti. There were so many parallels in our lives through education and living close by in our Eastside community.
I will always remember Anne and her devotion to Speech Therapy as she generously applied her education to patients like myself and countless others. Anne always had a positive attitude that she used to apply to patients like myself to make them feel welcome.
I will miss her wit and her sense of humor that she possessed.

You are missed at work already. You touched so many lives. Not just in the patients you treated and helped but your colleagues and friends. Rest in peace until we meet again.
