Anne Tracy Sullivan

Anne T. Sullivan of Fairfield, CT passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 3rd at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Born on September 21, 1925 in Hartford, CT to Anna Leahy and John Tracy, Anne graduated from Mount St. Joseph Academy and in 1948 from St. Joseph's College in West Hartford, CT where she earned her BS/RN degree. She worked as a school nurse in the West Hartford School system. In 1951, she married Walter T. Sullivan and they moved from Hartford to Hamden and then Fairfield, CT in June 1963 where they raised their three children. Anne was a singer throughout her life and at St. Joseph's College she had lead roles in musicals and operettas where she sang with the Metropolitan Opera baritone Cornell MacNeil. She was a past member of the choirs at St. Pius X Church and St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Fairfield. Anne worked as a private duty nurse and served as Director of Infection Control at the Carolton Convalescent Hospital in the 1970's. She was a school nurse for the Westport Health District for over 15 years at Kings Highway Elementary School. Anne was known for her kindness, love of life, positive outlook, wisdom and great faith. Anne was the wife of the late Walter T. Sullivan and is lovingly survived by her son, William L. Sullivan of Southport, and daughter, Catherine S. O'Donnell and her husband John, of Fairfield. She was the beloved "Massie" of six cherished grandchildren; Patrick and Anne O'Donnell of New York City, Chadwick and Chandler Sullivan of Fairfield and Korey Sullivan of Bethel and the late Brendan Sullivan. She was also predeceased by her son John T. Sullivan. She also leaves behind her brother John F. Tracy and his wife, Eileen of Bloomfield, CT and her nephews and niece, John and Robert Tracy and Sally Sayadoff.
