Anne J. Thomas, 92, of Charlestown, Rhode Island and Rotonda West, Florida, passed away on Thursday, December 4th at the South Kingstown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the beloved wife of Theodore "Ted" Thomas who passed away in 2012. They had a long and happy marriage lasting 61 years. Born in Needham, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Katherine (Wynn) Hagan, both of whom immigrated to the United States from Ireland.
She is survived by three daughters, Donna Harrison, Patricia Thomas-Danos and Susan Baranick. She was the mother of the late Theodore "Teddy" Thomas, Jr, and Sandra Staples. She was also much loved by her eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Anne worked as an Administrative Assistant for several companies before retiring and moving with Ted from Massachusetts to Rhode Island. After visiting Florida over several winters, they purchased a home in Port Charlotte, Florida. They spent the remainder of their lives as Snowbirds, splitting each year between Rhode Island and Florida.
Anne cherished her life with Ted, raising their family, traveling throughout the United States, playing cards with friends and golfing. They only took up the game of golf at their respective ages of 60 (Anne) and 67 (Ted). Anne loved the game and her golf friends, playing in to her 90's.
She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
A private service will be held at a later date.
