Diane Thomas Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dunn-Givnish Funeral Home on Feb. 16, 2026.
Diane Marie Thomas, age 71, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in Akron, Ohio, Diane was the beloved daughter of the late Robert and Marilyn (Glassner) Montgomery. She grew up in Copley, Ohio, and was a proud graduate of Copley High School. Her passion for learning led her to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Akron, where she met the love of her life and future husband, Martin "Marty" Thomas. College sweethearts, Diane and Marty shared nearly 48 beautiful years of marriage, building a life grounded in devotion, laughter, and unwavering partnership.

Diane dedicated most of her professional life to education. She began her career in computer programming and later found her true calling teaching computer classes at the elementary school level. She retired in 2015 from Hillsboro Elementary School in New Jersey, leaving behind a legacy of patience, encouragement, and inspiration in the many young lives she touched. Diane had a remarkable gift for making learning both accessible and exciting, especially as technology became an ever-growing part of the classroom.

Above all, Diane was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her cherished husband, Martin Thomas; her children, Kimberly (Brad Craig) and Matthew; and her treasured grandson, Jackson, who brought immeasurable joy to her life.

Family was Diane's entire world. She was the epitome of a "soccer mom," known far and wide for her unmatched soccer team transportation skills and her constant presence on the sidelines, cheering with pride. Whether coordinating carpools or celebrating victories, she made sure her children felt supported in every endeavor. Her love was steady, selfless, and unconditional.

An avid reader, Diane could often be found with a book in hand, happily lost in a story. In earlier years, she enjoyed sewing and creating thoughtful handmade pieces for those she loved. She found deep contentment in the simple joys of home and family, and her warmth made everyone feel welcome.

Diane will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her quiet strength, and the boundless love she gave so freely. Her legacy lives on in the family she adored and the countless students whose lives she helped shape. She will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Family and friends are invited to Diane's Life Celebration on Friday, February 20, 2026 from 9:30-11:00am at Dunn-Givnish Funeral Home, 378 South Bellevue Avenue, Langhorne, PA 19047. Her Funeral Service will follow at 11:00am.

Interment at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorne.
