Dave Dickson, age 69 of Akron passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026. A lifelong resident of Akron, Dave attended Copley High School before joining the United States Marine Corps.
After his honorable discharge, Dave worked as a mechanic, and became a jack of all trades. He was always quick to lend a helping hand, and his favorite hobby was rebuilding mini bikes and go-karts. Dave was a YouTube tutorial before they existed- just give him a call and he could walk you through most tasks around the house! Cars, though, were his specialty, and he was happy to help a friend with their tune-ups when needed.
Dave had a warmth about him, and an easy humor that gave friends and strangers a safe place. He opened his home to those who needed a place to stay, and could get folks laughing instantly.
Dave was a proud and devoted father to his children, Rusty Dickson, Alexandria (Marc) Remy, Alexander Dickson, Raymond Dickson, Tyler Dickson and Mikey Dickson. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, Marc (Colleen), Destiny, Nevaeh, Ethan, Ava, Sophia, Mia, Faith, Makayla, Charity and Matthew, and his many nieces and nephews. He got a kick out of poking fun at his baby sister, Marita (Dominick) Monte. Dave had many beloved friends, and could often be found running around with Jim Allberry, Carl Brown and Jet.
In addition to his parents Gilbert George Dickson and Estella Blanche {Shooke} Dickson, Dave was preceded in death by his sisters Laura Dickson, Mary McKee, Zeura Wexler, and brother Gary Dickson.
Per Dave's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of his life will be planned for the warmer months. To leave a special message for Dave's family, please visit the guest book below.
