Annetta Brazile Obituary
The funeral service for Mrs. Annetta James Brazile will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at Galilee Baptist Church, 1301 South High Street in Longview, Texas. Viewing will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at Galilee Baptist Church. The Rev. J.B. Dunlap is the pastor. The officiating pastor will be the Rev. Joseph Pipkin.
To celebrate her life and cherish her memories, she leaves her husband of 60 years, Mr. John A. Brazile of Hallsville, Texas; four sons, Johnny Brazile of Dallas, Texas, Carl Brazile of Dallas, Texas, Aubrey (Dara Mason) Brazile of Longview, Texas, and Paul Brazile of Dallas, Texas; four daughters, Nettie (Oren) Eddie of Bamberg, Germany, Johnetta (Marcus)Hicks of Pearland, Texas, Arthur Faye (Emile Jr.) Haley of Baytown, Texas, and Ruth Brazile of Spring, Texas; daughter-in-law, Mary Sloan Brazile of Terrell, Texas; sisters, Mrs. Dorothy James Brewster of Marshall, Texas, and Ms. Joy Faye James of Marshall, Texas; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Narvel Brazile McClurkin of Dallas, Texas, and Mrs. Gloria Sneed James of Marshall, Texas; brother-in-law, Mr. James Osborne of Huntsville, Texas; aunt, Mrs. Juanita Hopkins Daniels of Carrollton, Texas; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Dear O although it's been a year today that you were taken away it seems longer since the last year of your life you could not speak and we could not talk over the phone like we used to. I am sorry to have lost a wonderful mother-in-law. The pain is only what time will be able to heal. I am reminded of Noami and Ruth (Ruth 1:16-17"Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God.)My pray is that the all mighty God will continue to strengthen our family.

There is nothing anyone can say at a time like this that will heal your broken hearts. All we can say is God can do anything but fail and He is an ever present help in your time of need. I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your loved one and I know she will be truly missed. I did not know her personally other than meeting her in the hospital when she and my mother were across the hall from one another but, just in knowing several of the children, she had to be truly an amazing woman. I pray your strength in the Lord and may God continue to bless each of you.

I did not have the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Annetta Brazile but through working with her daughter, Johnetta, I know that she was an outstanding woman. I recently had the pleasure of meeting some of Mrs. Brazile's family and I saw through them that they were reared to be respectful, intelligent, God-fearing, and loving adults that any parent would be proud of.
Mrs Brazile is now resting and has a new body that is free from all pain and suffering. Johnetta, you and your siblings did an outstanding job in taking care of your mom during this past year. I pray that God will bless each of you and strengthen your hearts in the days and months to come. Johnetta, if it had not been for your mother, I would not have been blessed to have such a loving friend. For the many values that your mother instilled in each of you, she is a woman worthy of praise.
