Annetta J. Hatton

Annetta J. Hatton, 82, of Honesdale, died on Friday, February 27, 2026 at her home with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles K. Hatton Jr. on March 20, 2011. The couple married on April 25, 1964.

Born on August 26, 1943 in Honesdale, she was the daughter of the late Maynard and Betty (Huff) Freiermuth. She and her husband owned and operated Shamrock Homes in Indian Orchard until her retirement in 2012.

Nettie shared a loving life with her husband, exploring the world through their shared passion for travel. She found joy in nurturing her beautiful flower gardens, which reflected her love for nature and beauty. Christmas was particularly special to her; she expressed her creativity and warmth through her festive decorations, creating a welcoming haven for family and friends during the holiday season.

Nettie was a vibrant and strong-willed woman who touched the lives of many through her kindness and spirited nature.

Surviving is her son, Shawn Hatton of Honesdale; her brother-in-law, Joseph Hatton of San Antonio, TX; her special friend who was always there to help, Patrick Estus; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Craig Hatton and brother, Junior Freiermuth.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 5th at Hessling Murray Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale at noon. The family will receive friends on Thursday, 11 until the time of service. Interment will be in Indian Orchard Cemetery.
