Annette L Dimmie

Annette L. Dimmie peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home on July 5, 2023, at the Hudson Hill Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Yonkers New York after an extended illness. She was 84 years old. Annette was born on June 30, 1939 to the late Annabelle and Milford Wright in Marion, SC. She was the oldest of six children.
Annette attended Marion County Training School, graduating in 1956. She eventually relocated to New York where she continued her education taking classes at Rochambeau School and Taft Secretarial School. She later began working at Union Carbide as a Shareholder Service Specialist until her retirement in 1996.
On March 25, 1960, she was blessed with a baby boy Jeffrey. They had an unbreakable bond. In 1970 she united in holy matrimony to Raymond Dimmie.
Annette was a faithful servant of Trinity United Methodist Church of White Plains, NY until her health began to fail. As a member of Trinity, she worked in numerous ministries and held many offices. She was a volunteer at Trinity Day Care Center. She served as the Women's Day Chairperson and Captain. She held the position of Church Membership Secretary, a member of the Church Finance Committee and the Church Financial Secretary. She also was on the Trustee Board and the Staff Pastor-Parish Relations Committee. Annette loved music and was a member of the Inspirational choir, Women's Day choir and the Church's combined choirs. As a member of the Floral Committee, she, along with others provided flowers to beautify the church. From it's inception, she served on the church's community feeding program now known as Barley Loaves and 2 Fish. Annette was the Lay Leader and attended the United Methodist Church NY Annual Conference for many years.
Annette also found time to be of service in the community.
She was a member of Church Women United since 1988. She was a long-time volunteer at the Ecumenical Food Pantry located at the Slater Center. She also was a member of the Interfaith Council of White Plains, the NAACP and a member and past Vice President of the Westchester Urban League.
Annette loved to travel, shop, enjoyed doing search word puzzles and spending time with family and friends, especially her nieces and nephews.
Annette was always meticulous and fashionable from head to toe - clothing, hair, makeup, jewelry, beautiful scarves, and purses.
Annette was predeceased in death by her parents Annabelle and Milford Wright, husband Raymond Dimmie and brother Howard Wright.
She is survived by her son Jeffrey (Jonette) Wright, of White Plains, NY, sisters Linda (Jackie) Parnell, of Columbia, SC, Janice Graves, of Marion, SC, Sister-in-law Mary Wright, of Columbia, SC, brothers Preston (Doylas) Wright, of Fishkill, NY, Theron (Tanera) Wright, of Elgin, SC, a host of nieces and nephews that loved her dearly and two special friends Lucille Gaymon and Lillian Henry.
Annette's faithful living and commitment to doing God's work stand as an example to all who knew and loved her, and she will be greatly missed.
