A Celebration of Life for Annette Mitchell, age 87, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Rose-Neath Chapel in Mansfield, Louisiana, with a graveside service immediately following at Union Springs Cemetery in Converse, Louisiana. A visitation will take place Monday, June 30, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Annette was born on August 1, 1937, in Saline, Louisiana, to Garland and Adeline Williams. She passed away peacefully on Friday, June 27, 2025, in Shreveport, Louisiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Billy Williams; and her sister, Carolyn Dejean. Left to cherish her loving memory are her devoted family: son, George Goodeaux and wife Debbie; daughter, Debbie Emrick and husband Kenneth; grandchildren, Misty Kersenbrock and husband Richard, Curtis Goodeaux and wife Allison, John David Goodeaux and wife Sharon, Kenny Emrick, Kerri-Ann Travis and husband Lee; great-grandchildren, Triston Kersenbrock and wife Rachel, Kalynne Emrick, Dylan Goodeaux, Kaylee Goodeaux, Kenlee Travis, and Bryce Travis; great-great-grandchild, Scarlet Kersenbrock.
Affectionately known as "Nanny," Annette was an avid gardener, artistic, family-focused, and a pillar of her community. A longstanding member of First Baptist Church of Mansfield, her kind and giving spirit extended to her work as a leader in Eastern Star and her annual support of Operation Christmas Child. Her life was guided by the values she held dear: Be wise, be kind, be loved, and be humble.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are Bryce Travis and John David Goodeaux.
