Annette “Petie” Louise Edenfield Johnson, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025, at the age of 87.
Born on August 2, 1938, Petie was a 1956 graduate of Commercial High School. In her younger years, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life — a boat ride on the coast, a quiet afternoon cup of coffee with her twin sister, Ann, and time spent by the side of her beloved husband, Woody Johnson. These were the moments that filled her heart.
Above all, Petie loved her family deeply, especially her grands and great grandchildren. She never missed an opportunity to make someone feel remembered and special — always sending cards for every holiday to let you know you were in her thoughts.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Woodrow Edward Johnson, Jr.; her parents, Willie Lee and Annie Laurie Edenfield; and her siblings, Lester Edenfield, David Edenfield, Willie Lee Tully, Tiny Nessmith, and Ann Overstreet.
Survivors include her loving children: Woodrow Johnson III of Portland, Oregon; Randy Johnson of Guyton; and Terri Collins (Bart) of Guyton. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to seven grandchildren and a joyful great-grandmother to twelve great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held in Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, where Petie will be laid to rest beside her husband.
