The epitome of elegance and steadfast faith, Sister Annette Faye Sneed Shackelford entered Eternal rest on July 12, 2024, with her Pastor at her bedside.
Annette Faye Sneed was born on February 17, 1958, to Annie L. Sneed and TJ Black in Austin, Texas. She was the third child and second-born twin. Annette attended public schools in Austin, such as Blacksher Elementary School, Kealing Junior High, and Reagan High School, where she graduated in 1976. Upon graduation, Anette moved to Dallas to further her education at Dallas Community College.
Annette had a strong Christian foundation and accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of Brother Bill Jones at the Church of the New Testament. She was baptized under the Montopolis Bridge in the Colorado River in Austin, Texas. As she became more settled in Dallas and decided to make it home, Annette united with Good Tree Baptist Church under Reverend Donnie Dewberry, Sr.'s leadership. Her extreme hospitality and friendship were felt among the church and community members. Sister Shackelford was a loving, spiritual woman who feared the Lord but loved him dearly.
Annette was employed by the Dallas County School District for thirty years. When she could no longer drive, she became a monitor until she could no longer walk on her own, going on disability in 2015 and later retiring in December 2023.
Awaiting her arrival in Glory are her parents and both sets of grandparents; her brother, Wayne Sneed, Sr.; and her uncles, Warren, Thurman “John” Charles, Vernon Jr., and Emanuel “Dee” Sneed.
Sister Shackelford’s beautiful life will forever be cherished by her twin sister, Anita and her husband, Sam Pamplin of Austin, and her baby sister, Gloria Tucker of Waco; her uncle, Bobby L. Sneed, Sr.; her aunts, Viola Searcy of Del Valle, Charlene and her husband, Leroy Simon of Seguin, and Virginia Guyton of Dallas; nieces, LaTorya, (Searcy) Jacobs of Austin, Fatrese (Archie) Mardis of Fort Worth, Sharica (TuSweet) Demar of Waco; nephews, LaMont Pamplin of Austin and Stanley (Diane) Pimpton, Jr. of Waco; Godsons Donnie Dewberry Jr and Reginald D’Andre Kelly of Dallas; Goddaughter, Olivia Joi of Dallas; special niece Kaylah Jacobs of Austin; six great-nieces, three great-nephews; two great-great-nieces; and a host of cousins, and other relatives and friends, including her Good Tree Church family.
