Guest Book
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 1:00 pm in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church for Annie Broussard, 84, who passed away September 30, at her residence. Father Paul Bienvenu, pastor of St. Alphonsus, will be the celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Angela Broussard and Hilda Broussard will be the lectors, and interment will follow the mass in St. Alphonsus Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Leroy Joseph Broussard; two sons, Christopher D. Broussard and Timothy Broussard; seven grandchildren, Adam N. Duhon, William Logan, Kristen Broussard, Page Broussard, Bryn Broussard, Evan Broussard, and Ryan Broussard; and two great-grandchildren, Evelyn Duhon and Drew Broussard.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Enola and Calice Bourque; one daughter, Tammy B. Logan; and one sister, Rose B. Lormand.
Annie was born and reared in Maurice, and lived in Lafayette for most of her life. Upon graduation from Judice High School, Annie went to SLI to continue her studies. It was there she met Leroy Broussard. The couple wed on October 19, 1960. They enjoyed dancing with each other, and won many competitions together.
Annie worked as a secretary for 35 years with several companies in the insurance and oil/gas industries. She took early retirement in 2019 as an executive secretary at Arco Oil & Gas upon their closing of their Lafayette office.
Annie was a caring and loving mother and grandmother, and had many friends. She will be remembered as always wanting to help others, especially at times of sickness.
Pallbearers will be Christopher D. Broussard, Timothy Broussard, Jody Lormand, Adam N. Duhon, William Logan, and Evan Broussard. Honorary pallbearers include Ryan Broussard, Mike Logan, Blair Lormand, and Jansen Lormand.
The family requests that visitation be held at Walters Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 4 between 2:00 - 8:00 pm. A rosary will be led by her daughter-in-law Hilda Broussard at 6:00 pm Wednesday evening. Visitation will resume on Thursday morning at 8:00 am until time of service.
