Ruth was an independent and feisty woman who was also the glue that held her family together. A difficult childhood helped to shape her into the vivacious and adventurous woman that she was. As a centenarian, Ruth lived through the Great Depression and World War II. She saw the completion of the Empire State Building and witnessed the first man launched into space. She also saw major advancements in medicine and technology such as the dawn of DNA and the birth of the computer and cell phone.
Ruth had a full life in the 101 years that she lived. She was the type of person who never met a stranger, and she saw people for who they were. Her compass for life was her relationship with and love for the Lord Jesus. It was her guide through the joys and difficulties of life. She was an amazing cook and could whip up the best of comfort foods, including her famous biscuits and Christmas candies, which she took great pleasure in sharing with her family. Ruth's love of gardening and talent in sewing was often used to bless those around her. A compassionate woman, she often took in strays of all kinds, both kids and animals. She had a ready laugh, and her sense of humor would light up a room. Ruth was beloved of her family and will be greatly missed.
