Anniebell Jefferson was born on December 29, 1932, in Hughes Arkansas, to Mary Bonds and George Jefferson, they preceded her in death
She married Arthur Lee Davis in 1948 from that union she had 8 children. Anniebell and Arthur were together until his untimely death in 1964. Anniebell met Ivory McGowan and from their union they had 10 children.
Anniebell loved to travel with and attend fellowships with her church family. She especially like going out to dinner with family, one of her most favorite places to eat was the Golden Corral. Anniebell loved gardening and she spent hours gardening at the community gardens.
She was employed at the Admiral Hotel, Hotel Capri and Best Western totaling 20 years in the housekeeping industry. She also worked at her church as a housekeeper and was always praised about her unwavering dedication for providing a pristine sanctuary from staff and parishioners alike.
Anniebell was a life-long care giver, as the oldest of her siblings she cared her siblings, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She became a foster parent in 1996, she also started her own daycare business, "Annie's Day Care" caring for children throughout the Greater Kansas City area which spanned over 15 years.
Anniebell attend Faith Mission Church from 1976 to 1991 under the late Rev. Hubert Lambert after his death the late Willie Graham and continued her attendance, until 2001. She joined Christ Temple which later became Victorious Life, in 2001 where she an active member until her death. Anniebell was known for her decorative hats and elaborate dresses which members deemed her as one of the churches "Best Dressed Mothers". She was always as sharp as whip, and that is what made her so unique than most. Anniebell survived through many adversities throughout her life and was last of her siblings to be called home to glory.
Anniebelle departed this life on 8 January 2026, she was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Lee Davis; and her second husband Ivory McGowan; her children Minnie Bell Davis, David Davis, William Swift, George Lee Davis, Hubert (Willie C) Davis, Helen Jean Davis, L.T. Davis, and Leon McGowan; her siblings, 3 brothers Cornelius Sanders, Johnson Bradley, Willie B. Bradley; and 3 sisters, Elnora Bradley, Jennie V. Stewart, and Earlene Johnson.
Anniebell leaves behind 8 daughters Maelee Conway, Ernestine Davis, Patricia Ann Davis, Diane Davis, Peggy Davis, Annette Davis, Brenda Jean Davis-Green (Clive), Linda Jean Graves (Lance); 4 sons Dannie McGowan, Dary McGowan (Sharon), Gary McGowan, Charles Edward Davis (Nancy); 1 granddaughter she raised from birth, Francis Mercedes Davis; 51 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday January 17, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) at Victorious Life Church 3400 Paseo Blvd. KCMO 64109. Interment: Brooking Cemetery.
