In Loving Memory of
Anthony "Mark" Richardson ("Crash")
September 8, 1974 – October 19, 2025
Anthony Mark Richardson, affectionately known as "Crash," passed away peacefully on October 19, 2025, surrounded by family who loved him dearly
Born on September 8, 1974, in
Marion, South Carolina, Mark was the cherished son of the late Cecil Lavern Richardson of Britton's Neck and Teresa Gail Campbell Richardson of Mullins. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents on both sides, who shaped his character and love for family.
A Life of Service and Dedication
Mark's life was defined by service, adventure, and unwavering loyalty. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and later in the Army National Guard, where he served for 22 years, achieving the rank of Sergeant before earning an honorable discharge. Throughout his years of military service, he formed lifelong bonds with his brothers in arms and served proudly around the world.
After retiring from the National Guard, Mark carried forward a legacy of honor, bravery, and friendship.
For over 23 years, he was a dedicated employee at WestRock, where his humor, dependability, and generosity left a lasting impression on coworkers and friends alike. He had a gift for making people feel valued, whether through a kind word, a check-in, or a helping hand.
A Life Well-Lived
Outside of work, Mark embraced life with joy and energy. He loved the thrill of riding his Jeep Ginger through the mud, exploring the trails, and cheering passionately for his beloved Clemson Tigers every fall. His compassion extended to animals-especially his loyal companion Tank-whose friendship brought him comfort and joy.
Mark's greatest love was his wife, Tanya Edwards Richardson. The two first met in their early twenties in Marion, and though life's path took them apart for a time, fate brought them back together. They rekindled their love and were married in 2016, sharing years filled with laughter, adventures, and deep companionship. Tanya was his partner, his peace, and the love of his life.
Those Who Cherish His Memory
Mark leaves behind his loving wife, Tanya Edwards Richardson; his mother, Teresa Gail Campbell Richardson; his sisters, Sherie Sawyer (Buddy) and Amy Hayes (Ed); four nephews, three nieces, and one great-niece.
He is also survived by beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and many cherished friends who will forever carry his memory.
He was a man who embodied kindness, generosity, and joy. Mark would give freely of himself and often did so with a smile or a joke. To know Mark was to know someone who lived fully, loved deeply, and left every person he met feeling seen and cared for.
His nickname, "Crash," reflected the larger-than-life personality that could light up a room-and the unforgettable presence he carried throughout his life.
A Legacy of Love
Though his time with us was far too short, Mark's story will live on in the laughter, love, and loyalty he shared. His mission is complete, and his legacy remains strong, true, and deeply cherished.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." – 2 Timothy 4:7
At ease, soldier. Mission complete.
