Anselmo Saenz, 87, of Stafford, Texas passed away on October 24, 2024. He was born on February 18, 1937, in Concepcion, Texas to Manuel and Rosa Saenz. Anselmo Saenz was a long-time member of Holy Family Catholic Church – Missouri City, Texas. Anselmo retired from Hudson Products with over 35 years of service. He had an enthusiasm for life and a smile for everyone he met. He had a great love of sports and loved talking about them. He was the biggest sports fan of the Houston Astros and the Dallas Cowboys. He had an even greater love for his wife, Marina, and his daughters. He was involved with all the activities of his grandchildren. He was also active with walking and riding his bike through the neighborhood.
Survivors include his wife, Marina M. Saenz; three daughters, Selena Vargas (Eddie Vargas); Melissa Lemus (Joe Lemus); Sylvia Garcia; five grandchildren, Clarissa Johnson (Sam Johnson); Sophia Vargas; Katherine Lemus; Lance Lemus; Michael Garcia; one great granddaughter, Julienna Chen-Vargas; sister, Josefa Cantu; along with extended family and a host of friends.
In addition to his parents, Anselmo Saenz is preceded in death by his brothers, Amando Saenz, Horacio Saenz, Catarino Saenz, and Baldemar Saenz.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, November 7, 2024, in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. The Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 8, 2024, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Missouri City, Texas.
Anselmo will be laid to rest at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the Salinas Family Cemetery in Concepcion, Texas.
Pallbearers will include Eddie Vargas, Joe Lemus, Lance Lemus, Michael Garcia, Sam Johnson, Roberto Cantu, Jr., Harold Saenz, and Manuel Saenz.
