Anthony Allen Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of my beloved son, Anthony Wayne Allen, on August 22, 2025.
Anthony was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ralph and Mary Basnight, his father, Donald Wayne Allen, and his grandmother, Joy Allen, along with many other dear family members and friends.
He is survived by his mother, Constance Leigh Allen; his aunt, Becky (Asa) Chandler; his uncle, Donnie (Theresa) Basnight; and numerous cousins, family, and friends who will cherish his memory.
Anthony had a deep love for music of all genres and was a talented third-generation photographer. He found joy in poetry and was an avid reader of non-fiction, building a vast collection of hardback books. His curiosity about life and people was endless. He was also a self-inspired chef, passionate about exploring cultural recipes and sharing them with family and friends. Anthony loved to travel, always eager to experience and discover new places. He also had a profound appreciation for the beauty of nature and found peace walking in the woods. Some of the most treasured moments were spent there together, surrounded by the quiet of the trees. Animals seemed to be drawn to him, often approaching or allowing him to come near, reflecting the gentle spirit they sensed within him.
He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and the many moments of laughter he shared with those around him. Though his journey on this earth was not easy, Anthony faced each day with courage and resilience. He had a profound faith in God and touched countless lives with his kindness and generosity. His heart was big, and he had a gift for recognizing the needs of others, often helping quietly and selflessly.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anthony's memory to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) at www.NAMI.org.
His Celebration of Life will be sometime in the future and I will announce the date once known.
