Anthony Arieno Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Profetta Funeral Chapel - Webster on Dec. 19, 2024.
Peacefully, Tuesday, December 17th 2024 at the young age of 67 after a too short but brave fight with cancer.
Predeceased by his mother, Mary C. Arieno; his beloved sisters, Patricia Arieno and Joan (Toni) DeGrazia. Tony is survived by his daughters, Andrea Arieno (Daniel Schmitt) and Tracy Wigmore; grandchildren, Madison, Wesley, and Johnathan; brothers, John (Marilyn) and Roger (Jeanne) Arieno, his sisters, Maryann DiSalvatore and Lucille Gagliano; many nieces and nephews, former wife and friend, Cindy Arieno, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Tony, also lovingly known as Tony Armas, was an all-star ball player, playing baseball in the Rochester community since he was a teen and up through the summer of 2024. He loved the Baltimore Orioles and Cal Ripken Jr. Tony was also an avid bowler as a young adult, in local newspapers numerous times for his high scores. A sports lover, especially the Buffalo Bills, Tony loved watching games with his buddies on the weekends. Tony was a kind, loving, sensitive, and gentle man. He was an extremely hard worker all his life, and in retirement, continued to stay busy helping family and friends with whatever they needed.
Family and friends are welcome on Thursday, January 2, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Profetta Funeral Chapel, 1650 Empire Blvd. Tony's Funeral Mass will be Friday, January 3, at 10 a.m. at Spiritus Christi, 121 Fitzhugh St N, Rochester, NY 14614. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Tony's name to Lollypop Farm.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to Nurse Ryan Russo and Nurse Marissa Hess from Rochester General Hospital -two of the kindest souls we were blessed to meet during our difficult stay in the hospital. We will be forever grateful for your kindness and compassion.

I'm very sorry for the loss of Tony. My deepest sympathies go out to his family. He will be truly missed and I can say that he led by example and touched lives. There was a reunion a few months ago which is the last time we spoke. After having a good time catching up I said to him on my way out "You were always good to me" and he replied "You were always good to me too". I can say that he will never be forgotten.

I cannot believe that you are gone. My heart is heavy. You were a great boss. We had lots of fun and laughs together. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family. Fly high with the angels Tony. I am so glad I got to see you a few months back. Until we meet again, R.I.P
