Anthony Cecere Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Old Bridge Funeral Home - Old Bridge on Dec. 10, 2025.
Anthony was born on October 2, 1937, in Maplewood, NJ, where he was raised by his parents, Daniel and Mildred, alongside his brother, Ronnie. He attended Upsala College in East Orange and proudly served in the United States Army as a Staff Sargent from 1960 to 1964.
In a beautiful partnership, he married the love of his life, Anne (who passed away in 2022), on June 2, 1962, and together they built a life in Newark, NJ. As their family flourished, they embraced new beginnings in Old Bridge, NJ, where they created lasting memories with their children.
Anthony dedicated his career to Ballantine & Sons as a Warehouse Foreman, later becoming a Plant Manager at Panasote Inc., and eventually lending his expertise to the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance, Market Conduct Division, as a Market Conduct Examiner in Trenton. His commitment to community and service was evident through his affiliation with the Sayrewoods South Rebels and his membership in the Knights of Columbus.
Known affectionately as "Tony," he uplifted others through his positive outlook and will be remembered as a kind, gentle, and selfless man. He was a member of St. Ambrose Church and participated in the men's group "That Man is You.' Tony found joy in fishing, cheering for the Yankees, and, most importantly, cherishing time with his family.
He is survived by his beloved children: Lisa Lally and her husband Frank, Maria Cecere (deceased), Christine Albert and her husband Jon, Stephanie Flammia and her husband Theo, Jennifer Acquaviva and her husband Michael, and Anthony Cecere and his wife Heather. As a proud grandfather, he leaves behind 11 grandchildren: Francis, Jillian, Maria, Jon, Daniel, Jamie, Dylan, Luca, Marcello, Hailey, and Anthony, along with 3 great-grandchildren: Luke, Dillon, and Grace.
Family and friends are invited to attend Anthony's visitation on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Old Bridge Funeral Home, 2350 Route 516, Old Bridge, NJ 08857. A funeral mass will take place on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 10:30 am at St. Ambrose R.C. Church, 81 Throckmorton Lane, Old Bridge, NJ 08857.
