Anthony J. "Silly Pop" Corrado

Anthony J. Corrado passed away at his home on February 24, 2026 at the age of 81.

Anthony was a lifelong Delaware resident. He graduated from Wilmington High Schoola nd attended Goldey Beacom College, earning a degree in Business. After serving six years in the U.S. Marine Reserves, he joined his family's construction business, Corrado Brothers, which later became Site Development. He eventually entered the Union and went on to have a long career as a heavy equipment operator.

Always on the go, Anthony had many hobbies and plenty of stories to go with them – including tales of broken ribs courtesy of an outfield fence playing softball and that time his walking got him to Minnesota. He proudly showed off his many bowling trophies, pictures from the latest car show he attended, and, of course, regaled anyone who would listen, of his next great food spot.

Anthony loved his family deeply. He shared close relationships with his siblings and was especially proud of the tight bond among his own children. Affectionally known as "Silly Pop" by his grandchildren, he loved being a big kid with them – cracking jokes, dancing around the room and singing made-up songs.

A huge part of Anthony's life was his many, many friends – quite a cast of characters, several known only by the nicknames he'd call them. There was no one he wouldn't strike up a conversation with: the cable guy, the waitress, the nice man at the bank. As the years passed, there were fewer and fewer places you could go with Anthony without running into someone who knew him and wanted to catch up.

Anthony will be greatly missed by all who knew him. But at long last, the boss can rest.

Anthony is survived by his longtime partner, Teena Honer; his children, Heather Foley (Ken Foley), Christie Bleach (Bryan Spence), Anthony Corrado (Carla Silvia), Jennifer McGrath (Tommy McGrath), and Jessica Anderson; and his beloved grandchildren, Brady, Abby, Austin, Lucas, Olivia, Khloe, Willow, Wesley, Luna, and Leo. He is also survived by his brothers, Joey Corrado and Bobby Corrado (Lisa Corrado); his sister, Betty DiClemente (Bert DiClemente); his sister-in-law, Louise Corrado; and many cherished nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Lawrence Corrado, Sr. and Helen Greggo Corrado; his first wife, Rosemary Mamczur Corrado; his second wife, Dottie Wright Corrado; his brothers, Larry Corrado and Stephen Corrado; and his sisters-in-law, Polly and Ronnie.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 3 from 10-12pm with a celebration service to follow immediately after at 12pm at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803. Burial will be private.
