“From a small spark burns a mighty flame”

Anthony C. (Tony) Cuccurullo passed away peacefully on June, 1 2025 surrounded by his loving family.

Tony is survived by his devoted wife of over 64 years Cindy (Pellegrino), children Dennis M. (Valtina) Cuccurullo, Lynn (Jeff) Mazzone, his pride and joy grandchildren Travis (Mindy) Lane, Lauren (Travis) Perrott, his namesake Anthony J. (A.J.) Mazzone, and Samantha (Sami) Cuccurullo, and great grandchildren Maya, Max, and Bradley. Tony was a loving and caring father and grandfather, and was blessed to have a caring extended family: five special sisters and great brothers-in-law: Carol (Joe) Paciolla, Gloria (Don) Maki, Barb (Terry) Kucel, Rose (Ron) Rowland, Deb Sutliff (Frank), and loving family members including brothers-in-law Jim Pellegrino (Nancy), the late Donny Pellegrino, and sister-in-law Melanie Atkinson (Charlie). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Tony.

Born April 24, 1941 to Carl and Margaret Cuccurullo (Sanges), he held the honor and privilege of being the eldest child with five sisters who adored him. Playing basketball growing up he earned the nickname Cousy. Tony graduated from Gloversville High School in 1958 where he was the captain of the golf team. There, he met his best friend and love of his life Cindy and the rest was history. Tony began his 45 year prominent career with Sofco in 1965 in credit and sales where he built many longstanding friendships. One of his proudest moments with the company was winning a local competition that allowed him to play in a Shell sponsored golf tournament at Pebble Beach Golf Links in California. Tony had a life-long passion for sports, especially golf, the New York Yankees, and the New York Giants. One of his favorite places to golf was at Western Turnpike where he shot his first hole in one. Tony loved going on trips with his family to Wildwood, NJ and Atlantic City, always enjoying an ice-cold beer and hot fudge sundaes from the Seashell. He also made frequent trips to the Saratoga Racino and Saratoga Race Course.

Tony touched everyone with his kind heart and great sense of humor, whether it was cashiers at the market, neighbors, or the doctors and nurses that cared for him.
