Anthony R. Daddabbo

Anthony R. Daddabbo, 88, of Newington, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 7, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Rachel (Conte) Daddabbo for 68 years, having been together since kindergarten. Born and raised in New Britain, son of the late Vito and Lucy (Spinelli) Daddabbo, he was a longtime Newington resident and parishioner of St. Mary's Church. Anthony was employed with Emhart for many years prior to his retirement. He was an avid sports fan, including the Giants, the Celtics and Nascar, especially driver Richard Petty who was the "best race car driver there ever was". Every year he enjoyed turning their home into "Santa-Land" at Christmas time, where they would set out over 500 Santas and welcome in the public to see them. Along with his wife, he leaves his two sons, Anthony and his wife Sherry of Plainville, and Jeffrey and his wife Debbie (Deborah) of Plainville, his four grandchildren, Kristin Ficaro and her husband Matthew, Kerry Barger and her husband Lowell, Nicholas, and Kyle Daddabbo, and his four great grandchildren, Trey, Enzo, Nico, and Summer. Anthony also leaves behind his two sisters Rose Garuti of Berlin, and Stella Lorah of Ledyard and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by three sisters and one brother. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, September 16th, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Newington.
