Anthony Edward Drexler, known affectionately as Tony, passed away on January 4, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on November 30, 1932, in Louisville, Kentucky, Tony's life was marked by a dedication to family, community, and his beloved profession.
Tony was a proud veteran who served in the United States Army, returning home to embark on a successful career in plumbing. In 1957, he established Tony's Plumbing, a business that not only thrived under his leadership but has been embraced and carried on by the third generation of his family, a testament to his hard work and enduring legacy.
Throughout his life, Tony was known for his vibrant personality. He was extraordinarily social, often taking the center stage among family and friends, delighting everyone with his storytelling ability. His warmth and joy were infectious, making him a cherished figure in the lives he touched.
Traveling with his loving wife, Jean, brought him immense joy as they explored the world together and created lasting memories. Tony and Jean shared 66 wonderful years of marriage, during which they built a life filled with love and laughter. They were a devoted couple, supporting each other through all of life's ups and downs.
Tony's dedication to his family was profound. He dearly loved his children, Eric (Deena) Drexler and Tonya (Rick) Roberts, and took great pride in being a doting grandfather to Sera and Tanner Drexler. The bond he shared with his grandchildren brought him endless pride and joy, and he cherished each moment spent with them.
As a long-time member of St. Mary's Navilleton Catholic Church, Tony’s faith was an integral part of his life, guiding him and shaping his values. He leaves behind a rich legacy of kindness, generosity, and a spirit that touched many.
Tony is preceded in death by his parents, Mike and Mary Schlemmer Drexler; his beloved wife, Jean; his son, Anthony Edward Drexler II; and a large family that included six brothers and four sisters.
Cremation was chosen following Tony's wishes. A Memorial Gathering will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday, January 16, 2025 at St. Mary Navilleton Catholic Church, (7500 Navilleton Road, Floyds Knobs). Tony and Jean's Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 am on Friday at the church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
