Paul Drexler Obituary

Paul Andrew Drexler, age 72, went to heaven on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 after an unexpected and massive heart attack.

Paul was born Pi Yung Ho in Jechon, South Korea on February 5, 1953 to an unknown American GI and a Korean woman. He lived with the Pi Sun Dae family until his adoption through the Green Bay Diocese in 1964.

Frank and Betty (White) Drexler welcomed Paul into their family in Oshkosh where he attended school at Sacred Heart and Oshkosh West, graduating in 1972. Paul worked in several area restaurants in his younger days, but eventually became a welder. He worked at JI Case in Winneconne for 10 years, and at Oshkosh Corporation for 30 years until his retirement in 2014.

Paul loved life and often wondered how he was so fortunate to be in the US and have this wonderful life. He made the most of it: he loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing both summer and winter, skiing, boating, bowling, and playing pool. His first love (besides Connie) was golf. After retirement, Paul had his dream job working for the past 10 years at FarVu Golf Course. In the past couple of years, he discovered Pickleball and it was becoming his winter passion.

Paul was adventurous and loved to travel. He returned twice to his native Korea, the second time with his daughter Heidi. They miraculously were able to track down the "brother" he had grown up with and had a heartfelt reunion. When Heidi moved from Alaska to Reno, NV, the two of them drove the entire Alaskan Highway from Fairbanks to Seattle together-a memorable and harrowing trip that included a close encounter with a bear. The 5-day rafting trip down the Snake River in Idaho with Heidi and Bill was also an adventure, as was hunting in the mountains of Nevada and Arizona. He and Connie traveled together to Alaska twice, Nevada, Arizona and Montana, Mexico and a Caribbean Cruise, and to China. They also vacationed in Las Vegas, San Diego, North Carolina, Iowa, Bayfield, Door County and took many trips to Florida.

Paul will be unbearably missed by his wife Connie, sons Joshua (Carrie) Drexler and Mickie (Sarah) Schneider, daughters Heidi (William) Kloth and Toni Schneider. He adored his grandchildren; Brynn, Mia and Nora Drexler and Weston and Roman Kloth. His loss will be deeply felt by his Drexler Sibs: Margaret (Jerry) Beck, Irene (Randy) Walter, Roseann (Terry), Marie (Scott) Metz, Michael P. Drexler, Kevin (Kathy) Drexler and Joe Drexler. Paul will be missed by his many nieces and nephews and tons of friends and co-workers.

Visitation will be held for Paul on Tuesday, December 30 at Fiss and Bills Poklasny Home on Westhaven Drive in Oshkosh from noon to 2:00 pm with a service at 2:00 led by Father Louis Golamari. After interment at Riverside Cemetery, a Celebration of Paul's Life will be held at Local 578 Union Hall, 2920 Oregon St. Oshkosh.

The family sends their deepest appreciation to the First Responders and ER staff at Aurora Medical Center Oshkosh, and the Cardio Vascular ICU staff at St. Luke's Hospital in Milwaukee, in addition to the Pickleball "family" at the Oshkosh Rec Department, specifically Jesse Anderson for his quick response.
