Anthony Dunton Obituary
Anthony attended Northampton County public schools where he was very active in sports such as basketball, baseball and track. He worked many jobs throughout his life but one that brought him the most joy was cooking at the boy's camp in New Hampshire.
Anthony moved to Charlotte, NC in October 2012 aft er reuniting and marrying a high school sweetheart Catherine. Since then, they shared their love for each other and God.
Anthony took pride in every job he worked and his dedication was an example to others. He showed himself to be a confident, fair and caring leader. His work ethics was an example to all who had the privilege to know him. He enjoyed serving his church by leading in the kitchen whenever needed. He volunteered with the non-profit, Team Up Connections, which mentors middle and high school children, encouraging them to make the right choices and assisting them when it involved cooking and by being a positive role model before them.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Catherine (Powell) Dunton; daughter, Ayesha Scott (Jackie, Jr.); granddaughters, Alyvia, Camryn, Jordyn and Londyn Scott; step-daughter, Nicole; step-son, David; step-grandson, Nessiah; sister, Delores Johnson; brother, Robert Dunton (Jean); aunt, Eula Mae Weeks; uncle, Milton Dunton; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Anthony had a great impact on the lives of many people he came to know once moving to Charlotte, NC. In addition to family and friends, he will be greatly missed by his church family and the non-profit organization he was a part of. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all of these and more.
"He cannot come to me but I will one day go where he is. Th is is true for all who accept Jesus as Savior. John 3:16 tells us "God so loved the world, that He gave his only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life".
