Anthony C. Elder

A life dedicated to spreading joy. Anthony Cornelius Elder was born on January 24th, 1963 to Eddie and Linda Elder of Boston (Mattapan), Ma. He passed away on January 16, 2025, just shy of his 62nd birthday leaving behind a legacy of laughter and smiles. Born and raised in Boston he attended Boston Public Schools, Lowell Mason and James J. Chittick Elementary Schools, William Barton Rogers Middle School and Hyde Park High School.
Anthony worked each day to brighten the world with his humor. He touched countless lives with his genuine spirit and infectious laughter. His quick wit and ability to find humor in everyday situations made him a cherished friend. At the age of 26 Anthony made a decision to move to his mothers home town of Laurel, Mississippi to help his grandfather on the family farm. He spent the remainder of his life with his Mississippi family and friends who loved him dearly. He was always dependable and hard working as he earned his living by working as a Millworker for the Laurel Lumber Mill.
Anthony's memory lives on through his daughters, Keila Elder of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, Shante Monique Elder of Mattapan, Massachusetts, Olivia Antoinette Lang of Vossburg Mississippi, and Trinity Elder of Laurel Mississippi and his three grandchildren Destiny, Jayden and Amaya. He was preceded in death by his younger brother Army Specialist Larry Elder of New Bedford Massachusetts, formerly Mattapan, Massachusetts. He is survived by his Parents Eddie and Linda Elder of Boston Massachusetts, Sister Wendy Elder of Boston Massachusetts and his Sister Wanda Moffett (Anthony) of Gainesville, Florida. Nieces, Walia and Aminah Moffett of Gainesville Florida, Melissa Jenkins (Wayne) of Augusta Ga., Paulette Elder of Randolph, Ma. and Nephew Roman Peele of Boston Ma.,
He lived each day to the fullest and was always upbeat and cheerful to all he encountered. His smile, laughter and compassion made him friends with everyone he met. He worked hard every day to make a positive impact and was happiest spending time with family and friends. He passed unexpectedly but peacefully in his sleep on January 16, 2025, just shy of his 62nd birthday.
Throughout his entire journey, he spread joy, made everyone laugh, and showed remarkable strength. His humor and presence will be missed.
