Anthony Emmi

Anthony "Tony" Carmen Emmi, 91, was born into eternal life on Thursday, at St. Barnabas-Beaver Meadows in Beaver, PA, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 24, 1933, in Chittenango, New York. Tony proudly served in the Air Force, where he pursued his passion for aviation. He enjoyed a fulfilling career as an airline mechanic for Mohawk, Allegheny, and USAir Airlines for over 30 years. A devout Catholic, Tony was a lifelong communicant and volunteer at St. Matthew Parish in East Syracuse, New York, and a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus. Known for his generous spirit, he always "took care of everyone" around him. In addition to his faith and family, Tony had a deep love for music. He enjoyed playing guitar, singing, and dancing with his family. An avid gardener, he found joy in nurturing plants and sharing his harvest. He also loved playing golf and bocce ball with friends and family, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love.
Tony was a devoted husband and father. He was predeceased by his wife of 36 years, Phyllis (Graham) Emmi in April 1998, his recent wife of 17 years, Carol (Diraddo) Emmi, in July 2022 and his nine siblings. Tony is survived by his three beloved children, Suzanne Auyeung and her husband, Ray Pujol, Brenda Lombardi and her husband, Matthew, and Anthony Emmi; his four step-children, Ron(Kathy) DiRaddo, Pat DiRaddo, Steven DiRaddo, and Kim Baldini; his grandchildren, Anthony and Nicholis Emmi, Matthew, Joseph, Dominick, and Peter Lombardi, Cley Pujol, Kenny Auyeung, and his wife, Jamie; his step-grandchildren, Stacy (Calvin) Johnson, Melissa (Anthony) Nolen, Kristy and Ronnie DiRaddo, Michelle and Tommy Baldini; his great-grandson, Kenneth Charles. Friends and family may call 4 pm to 7 pm Friday, October 11th at Carter Funeral Home Inc., 1604 Grant Blvd, Syracuse, NY 13208, A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am Saturday, October 12th at St. Matthew's Church, 229 West Yates Street, East Syracuse. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt, NY.
In honoring Tony's life, we celebrate a man whose heart was as vast as his love for family, faith, and community. He will be dearly missed but forever remembered. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Tony's honor.
