Anthony Fiore Obituary

Fiore, Anthony D. "Tony"

MADISON - Anthony D. "Tony" Fiore, age 83, beloved father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 12, 2021, at Agrace HospiceCare.

He was born on May 26, 1938, in Madison, to Louis and Mary (La Bella) Fiore. Tony was a lifelong resident of Madison and graduated from Edgewood High School. He attended University of Wisconsin-Madison. He had been a proud member of the Madison Drum & Bugle Corps. Tony worked at Madison Newspapers as photo engraver and pressman, with an exciting stint at the Madison Press Connection in the late '70s.

Tony was united in marriage with his beloved Diane Doherty on Aug. 6, 1960, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church. He loved being involved in his children's scouting, sporting and music activities and spent many days at ball diamonds, soccer games, and swim meets, as well at strings, orchestra and band concerts. He was a longtime member of the Italian Workmen's Club. And in the last few years, he loved his daily morning meetup with friends at Panera.

Tony's smile and friend-to-all and volunteer spirit will be missed by all. He is survived by his sister, Fran (Paul) Ervin; his children, Beth (Robert) Fiore Kral of Asheville, N.C., Chris Fiore of Middleton, Wis., Steve (Audrey) Fiore of Cambridge, Wis., and Ben (Anna) Fiore of Lodi, Wis.; grandchildren, Galen, Braden, and Gabriel Fiore Kral, Michael, Nick, and Bella Fiore, Adam Fiore, William, and Ruthanne Fiore, and Andrew Reynolds; and many other relatives and friends.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Joe Fiore; his wife, Diane; and son, Mike.

Tony was a personable man who loved listening to music and had been a ravenous reader of books. He enjoyed good Italian food, as well as spending time with family and friends. He will be so greatly missed and forever in our hearts.

The family would like to thank UW Hospital and Agrace HospiceCare for their tremendous care of our father.

My sincerest condolences. Tony was a such good man, a kind heart and always appreciated the friendships we shared. He would always offer a personal "take care my friend" when departing. He dearly missed Diane after she passed, I hope they are together again, sharing their good company. I will miss him!
