Life and Legacy of Anthony (Tony) Hampton

Anthony (Tony) Hampton, passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2018, in Columbus, Ohio at the age of 63. Born on April 25, 1955, in Chicago, Illinois, to parents, Wesley Hampton, Jr and Nadine Hampton (Russell;May) (both deceased). Also preceded in death by his younger brother Marvin Hampton and step-father, Eddie E. May. He is survived by his loving children who cherish his memory, Anthony A. Hampton,  Janeen E. Hampton and Sashwell Fowler; grandchildren, Anthony E. Hampton, David B. Hampton and Jada Fowler; siblings, Shirley (Albert) Adams, Wesley III (Nancy) Hampton, Darrell Hampton, Bridget (Hampton) Wynne, Gerand Hampton, Rodney (Jan) May; nephews, David, Marvin Jr., Evan; nieces, Tamar, Chynna, Kiesha, Chloe, Latrice; former wives, Juanita Marshall and Joyce Fowler and a host of great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

At an early age Tony received Christ and through the knowledge of His word he expressed his love for Christ to anyone that came across his path. Tony grew up on the South Side of Chicago with his loving family and attended the Southshore High School. By the age of 18, he enlisted into the United States Army for four years. After leaving the Services, Tony went into the workforce and over the next 40 years of his life; Tony thrived as an Entrepreneur. He was very resourceful as a hardworking man in every aspect of his life.  He founded three successful business in Cincinnati, OH, C.O.A.T.H, The Potter’s House, and T. J Contact Sewings. In 1981, Tony took Juanita Marshall as his lovely wife and from their union they were blessed with two wonderful children. As a caring father, Tony instilled the values of loyalty, respect and honor in his children. Tony thoroughly enjoyed spending quality time with his children and he loved them with all of his heart.  He ensured that his children had a solid foundation in the Word of God at the Pool of Bethesda C.L.G.I Inc. Tony was well travelled, he was always ready to pursue the next home run of his success. Tony’s goal in life was to honor his parents, remain dedicated to his faith in God, to love his family, to create opportunities for his children; and to be a mentor to everyone that crossed his path. God blessed us with his presence for 63 years and he will be deeply missed by many.

Memorial Service will be held at the SHAW-DAVIS FUNERAL HOMES, Clintonville Chapel, 4341 N High St, Cols, OH 43214 on Saturday Dec 1, 2018 starting at 11am.
