Gary Alan Everetts passed away peacefully in his bed on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.

There were many health issues he faced but it is unknown the ultimate cause of death.

A true Buckeye, Gary was born to Donald and Norma Darst-Everetts on October 18, 1954, in Columbus, Ohio.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Norma Everetts, his brothers, Donald Jr. Everetts and Terry Everetts and daughter-in-law Chelsey, mother-in-law, Nancy McKean Hoffman, brother-in-law, David McKean, and sister-in-law, Lisa McKean Bennett.

Gary is survived by his wife, love of his life of nearly 40 years, Kelly McKean Everetts, his 5 children, Susan Blazek, Shawn Blazek, Josh Everetts, Amber (Deshawn Scott), and Garrett Everetts. His grandchildren, Aubrey, Connor, Aaleah, Elijah, Cayleb, Kaelyn, Myla, Nichole, Daniel, Tabitha, Jenna, and Drayden. His brothers, Phillip (Debbie Everetts), Timothy Everetts, Lucinda (Don Caldwell), Laureen (Tod Porter). Many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Gary is most remembered as a loving husband, dedicated father, and a tenderhearted grandfather. He was loyal and faithful to his family and friends. Gary didn't mess around or play games. He was bullheaded and straightforward. Took a lot of pride in his strong work ethic. He worked his tail off to provide for his family. People knew him for his fierce attitude and stubbornness but he was mostly a softy. He loved to make people laugh. Always brought a little humor to the room. He was a story teller. He enjoyed just talking to people and always left an impression wherever he was. He was a simple man. Never complicated anything.

He was always a believer, but he recommitted his life to Jesus after his Walk to Emmaus. He spent a lot of time serving and giving back to his faith community. Gary loved Jesus and would boldy claim his faith. Even after years of battling dementia, it was no question that Jesus had his heart.

Gary enjoyed watching his Buckeyes and NASCAR races. Always known for wearing his Buckeye and NASCAR gear. He was an avid coffee drinker and loved his baked goods. Couldn't separate that man from his coffee cup.

Outside of football games and races he enjoyed being still and watching nature. Would often catch him staring out the window. And of course he loved his naps in his chair.

But most of all what brought him the most joy was spending time with his family. His grandchildren loved their Papaw very much. He always had a smile on his face seeing his family happy.

Gary impacted a lot of lives and will be greatly missed. His loved ones all look forward to seeing him again one day in paradise.
