Obituary
It is with a heart both heavy and tickled pink that I, Rosa Howell, am tasked with the honor of recounting the life of the man who could make anyone laugh until they cried, my beloved husband, Anthony L. Howell. Born on December 21st 1969, in Muskegon Heights, MI, Anthony was the kind of man who could find humor in the most mundane things. As Mark Twain once remarked, "Humor is mankind's greatest blessing," and oh, how blessed we were to have Anthony in our lives.
Anthony, a forklift driver by trade, he was the living embodiment of the phrase, "laughter is the best medicine." He was the life of the party. He was never one to shy away from a good joke, whether it was at the breakfast table, on the factory floor, or during late-night chats under the starry Indiana skies where we made our home. His infectious chuckle echoed through the halls of our Elkhart residence, a sound that will forever be missed but never forgotten. His love for family was as deep as his humor was contagious. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he was always ready with a joke to make their eyes sparkle with laughter. He was a loving soul, a devoted husband, a doting grandfather and a bonus Dad.
He leaves behind his wife, yours truly, who will forever cherish the laughter-filled memories we created. His mother Bertha (Willie) Spruel. A daughter Nila Sade Howell, a Son Kwane' Howell, step children Eric Thompson II, and Brandon Peoples. 10 Grandchildren. Sisters Bridget (Barry) Pierce, Tomiko Howell, a brother Arthur ( Gigi) D. Howell III, along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He joins his father, Arthur Howell II in the great beyond.
As Abraham Lincoln once said, "In the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years," and Anthony, my darling, you filled our years with so much life and laughter.
