Anthony “Tony” LaRoma, age 89, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026, in Lancaster, Ohio. Born on December 11, 1936, in Brooklyn, New York, Tony lived a remarkable life defined by hard work, devotion to family, and a zest for his many passions.

The beloved son of Philip and Dora (Coppa) LaRoma, Tony grew up in Brooklyn alongside his five sisters. Leaving school after the eighth grade, he began working alongside his father to master the trade of concrete flat work. This early experience laid the foundation for a lifelong career marked by skill and determination. In 1970, Tony relocated to Michigan and established his own business. Over the next 46 years, he built a thriving enterprise renowned for its quality craftsmanship and attention to detail. Retiring in 2016 at the age of 80, Tony left behind a professional legacy respected by colleagues and clients alike.

Tony’s interests extended far beyond his work achievements. An accomplished big game hunter with an adventurous spirit, he traveled across North America and Africa pursuing his passion and earning numerous national and international accolades along the way. He was a lifelong Dodgers fan, beginning in childhood, spending days at Ebbets Field in Brooklyn - when tickets cost just 25 cents. He remained devoted to the team through their (Los Angeles Dodgers) World Series victory in 2025!

In addition to his love for sports as a spectator, Tony was an active participant as well. He was devoted to managing and playing for the Twin Lakes Church softball team and proud of their 15 undefeated seasons! Tony was an avid bowler competing in multiple bowling leagues, highlighted by scoring multiple 300 point games! Through the various activities he participated in, his competitive nature and love of comradery was always reflected. Whether in the great outdoors, on the field, or at the lanes, Tony brought enthusiasm and determination to every hunt he was on or every game he played.

Tony’s talents extended beyond sports; he was also known for his culinary skills and bringing people together through food. He delighted in cooking meals with Beth and Tonya that became cherished moments they shared with family and friends. A great joy they shared was an annual church cookout they hosted at their home. Tony’s culinary skills were just another testament to his generous spirit and dedication to those he loved.

A devoted family man, Tony treasured time spent with loved ones. He was a loving husband to his late wife Beth LaRoma, a cherished brother and a doting father. He is survived by his daughters Tonya Mead (Robert) and Laura Cooper (Thomas); grandchildren Blake Vandenhout; Annie, Jacob, Justin, and Jessica Cooper; great granddaughter Kamilla Zeno; as well as sisters Rose Zingaro, Georgette Sciara, and Theresa Torzillo. He was predeceased by his wife Beth; parents Philip and Dora; and sisters Anna Napoli and Mary Fridscenda.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on March 20, 2026, from 2:30PM to 3:30PM at The Springs at Wyandot Trail located at 1495 Granville Pike in Lancaster, Ohio.
