Anthony Lipira Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Yurs Funeral Home of Geneva on Feb. 3, 2026.
Anthony "Tony" R. Lipira, 57, of St. Charles, Illinois, peacefully crossed into Valinor -and Heaven on February 2, 2026, at his home, surrounded by the love of his family.

Tony was born on June 10, 1968, in Elmhurst, Illinois. From the very beginning, he lived with curiosity, creativity, and a deep love for the people around him.

For over 25 years, Tony built a respected career as an IT Project Manager, but his life was never defined by work alone. He loved traveling with family and friends, chasing experiences and memories wherever they led. A true adventurer at heart, Tony especially loved extreme sports-snowboarding being his favorite-embracing the thrill, the freedom, and the joy of movement.

Music was another lifelong passion. Tony was an accomplished singer and songwriter, a proud member of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers, and someone who found meaning in melody and words. Music was not just something he did-it was something he was.

Tony had a huge heart for animals and was a devoted cat and dog lover. He adored his grand-dogs, Tennessee and Kirian, and-true to Tony's sense of humor-tolerated his grand-dog Cash. He was the perfect balance in life: the yin to Laura's yang, a loving and devoted husband, the very best Papa, and someone who was always ready for a good time, laughter, and connection with family and friends.

Tony is survived by his beloved wife, Laura; his children, Samantha (Bobby) Flamand, Alec (Brittney) Heffron, and Jack Heffron; and his cherished grandchildren, Mary Lou and Jackson. He is also survived by his mother, Florence Lipira; his sister, Donna (Dennis) DeRosa; and his brothers, Mario (Anne) Lipira and Ron (Vickie) Lipira. Tony leaves behind many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly: Mitch (Dory and their children, Penelope and Pearl), Mario Jr., Stephanie (Jamie), Vanessa (and her children, Bianca, Izabella, Mariyah) and Lisa (Sam) Lipira.

He was preceded in death by his father, Marian Lipira.

Tony's life was one of adventure, creativity, laughter, and love-and his presence will be deeply missed, always remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know him.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Yurs Funeral Home, 1771 W. State Street, Geneva, Illinois.

I worked closely with Tony for a number of years and I was impressed with how he kept his cool in all situations. I think his being super prepared helped him to get his point across was a professional that that was patient with those not as knowledgeable in certain areas, teaching us. He was kind and compassionate and I am grateful we had the opportunity to work together.

My family new Tony through my son David Hill. They were band mates who both love music. Tony's lyrics and David's music when put together made some great music. I am so glad we have the cds to listen to when we think of him. They just had a connection. We only got to spend one evening with Tony but that was all the time needed to see his kind and caring personality, and his love of music. He will be missed by many. Rest in peace Tony, rock on.

The obituary written for Tony was lovely. I learned several things about him and I can see how much of a man of character he was. I know he adored his wife, Laura, who is my niece, and all of his family. My heart goes out to all of the family and all those who knew him. May he live in the Eternal Light Of God.
