Mr. Anthony Joaquim Lopes

Pawtucket – Anthony "Tony" J. Lopes, 61, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Pawtucket, he was the beloved son of Lucille (Gevry) Lopes of Westerly, and the late Avelino Lopes. Tony graduated from Charles E. Shea High School and was a lifelong resident of Pawtucket. He worked as a sprinkler fitter in the Boston, MA area for many years. Tony enjoyed gardening, spending time by his pool and socializing at the News Café in Pawtucket. In addition to his beloved mother, he is survived by three sisters, Kristie Ripepi and her husband, Bruce, of New York, Cindy Ventura and her husband, John, of Westerly and Valerie Briden and her husband, David, of Rumford; nieces and nephews, Jacqueline and Diana Ripepi, Stephanie Starr, Michael Ventura and Shannon, Hope and Tess Briden; two grandnieces, Ava and Stella and three grandnephews, Jack, Tommy and Charlie. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, September 26th at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary Church, 103 Pine St., Pawtucket. Interment at Mount St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket, will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904 would be appreciated.
