Anthony (Tony) Louis Marcell, 78, a native of Amelia, La. passed away Friday, May 12, 2023 at Lane Regional Medical Center in Zachary, La.
Anthony was born on April 15, 1945 the son of Robert Joseph Marcell and Janet Gianfala Marcell. He graduated from Morgan City High School and grew up in Amelia working in the family’s business before becoming a draftsman in the oil field industry. Tony loved spending time with family and friends at the family camp in Grand Isle, playing his guitar and listening to Willie Nelson. He was always the life of the party and lived his life to the fullest.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his children, Andrea Marcell Moore and husband Darryl of Santa Fe, Tx; Cheryl Marcell Castello and husband Randy of Ethel, La; Anastasia Marcell Bozeman and late husband Bryan of Central, La and Michael Shayne Geiser and wife Amanda of Denton, Tx. He was “Paw T” to his 16 Grandchildren Kristina, Karen, Steven, Amanda, Michael, Jessy Lynn, Katy, Kayla, Mason, Meagan, Darrian, Madison, Madelyn, Austin, Taylor and Jensyn; and 17 Great-Grandchildren.
Tony is survived by his brother, Thaddeus Marcell, Sr. and wife Nedra and Sister, Carolyn Marcell Sonnier and husband Bruce and Nephews Robert (Bobby) Marcell, Jacob Marcell, Thaddeus (Pete) Marcell, Jr. and Bryan Marcell.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Joseph Marcell and Janet Gianfala Marcell, brother Rev. Robert Guy Marcell and son in law Bryan Bozeman.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation Tuesday, May 16, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Wednesday, May 17, 2023 from 8:00 am to 10:00 am at Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City, La. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson, La. Followed by burial in the church cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Twin City Funeral Home of Morgan City, La.
The family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude for the outstanding care and support given by the wonderful staff at Lane Regional Medical Center and The Lodge at Lane Nursing Home.
