Anthony McGee Obituary

Anthony McGee
Jacksonville - Anthony McGee, a beloved father, husband, uncle, and friend, passed away on May 30th, 2024. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a remarkable knack for kindness.
Anthony is survived by his devoted wife and high school sweetheart, Mandi McGee, whom he adored, and their two energetic sons, Kylen (7) and Roman (4), who will undoubtedly inherit his love for basketball and his boundless energy for the next good deal or card game. He also leaves behind his nephew Robby, who was more like a son to him.
He is also survived by his mother Wanda Helm of Jacksonville; two brothers, Kevin and David Warnick; an uncle, Keith Bobbitt; and numerous other family members. He was preceded in death by a grandmother, Elizabeth May Price.
A true basketball enthusiast, Anthony's love for the game was evident in the small community of North Greene where he grew up. He made a lasting impact on those who played alongside him, a core group of them remaining as his lifelong friends. He could always be convinced of a pick-up game at the Roodhouse basketball courts where he would befriend any person who joined in, collecting teammates through his life.
Despite his illness, Anthony's determination to spend as much time as possible with his loved ones never wavered. His strength and resilience were an inspiration to all who knew him. He pushed cancer to the brink to create countless cherished memories with his family and friends.
Anthony's infectious grin, steady kindness, and warm heart will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and those teammates he found along the way.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at the Williamson Funeral Home with burial to follow at Diamond Grove Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Memorials are suggested to his children's education fund, made payable to Mandi McGee.
