Barry S. McGee, age 75, of Kinards, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2026 at his home.
He was born November 4, 1950 in Clinton, SC, and was the son of William O. and Marguerite Harris McGee. Barry had a long and dedicated career, initially working in the textile industry at Clinton Mills and Milliken. He later served as Maintenance Supervisor at Pinelawn Memory Gardens before retiring from Greenwood City as an Animal Control Officer. He was also very committed to community service as the Chief of the 55 and 56 Rescue Squad, where he oversaw the Dive Team.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Angie McGee; his sons, Barry Steven McGee, Jr. (Jill) of Ninety Six, Ryan McGee (Beth) of Clinton, and Bradley Shipes (Tiffney) of Laurens; his daughter, Michelle Watkins (Stephen) of Clinton; eight grandchildren; his brothers, Eddie McGee, Tony McGee, and Marty McGee.
In addition to his parents, Barry was preceded in death by his siblings, Jean Cauble, Billy McGee, Jerry McGee, and Mike McGee.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, February 4, 2026 from 6 to 8 PM at Gray Funeral Home of Clinton.
