On September 10, 1970, Anthony Leroy McKithen was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Charles and Rosa Lee McKithen. Anthony was called home on Monday, September 26, 2022.
Anthony received his formal education in the Florence County public school system. He worked for two years with McKithen’s Construction as a brick mason. He began his work career with McKithen’s Construction and continued for over 15 years. As a longtime member of Meadow Prong Baptist Church. Anthony was very limited in attending church regularly, due to an accident that he sustained in 2004. He believed in the power of Christ, which empowered him throughout the years, he never complained.
Ant-Live, as he was affectionally called by his friends, was a loving and caring person; a dedicated son, a loyal brother, a devoted friend, and a faithful servant of God. He was always there to lend a hand if he was needed by family and friends.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Tyrone; and his grandparents.
Anthony leaves to cherish his memories: his loving father, Charles McKithen of the home; a devoted sister, Rosette McKithen; two devoted brothers, Tyrone McKithen and Tracey McKithen (Olivia Lynch) of Florence, South Carolina; three nephews, Tracy McKithen, Jr. (Dakoda Dwyer), Chaz Harley, and Tyrese McKithen all of Florence, South Carolina; a niece, TraKeria Mumford of Florence, South Carolina; three great nephews, Leland R. Harley, Kameron T. McKithen, and Kobe S. McKithen all of Florence, South Carolina; six aunts, Bertha Cummings of Florence, South Carolina, Fronnie Rose of Lynchburg, South Carolina; Nellie Pressley, Patricia (John) Lilly, Lillie (Robert) Ashley all of Florence, South Carolina, and Agnes James of Newark, New Jersey; two uncles, Ronald (Linda) McKithen of Dallas, Georgia and James Willis (Hilda) McKithen of Florence, South Carolina; four special cousins, Seqouya Pearson, Alan McKithen, and Thomas Porter all of Florence, South Carolina and Johnnie Mae James of Newark, New Jersey; two special friends, Hasan (Dedra) Davis and Frankie Goodson both of Florence, South Carolina; a mother-of- love, Mrs. Joanne Washington of Florence, South Carolina; one nephew-of-love, Darius “Donkey” Washington of Florence, South Carolina; two nieces-of-love, Monica Washington and Jessica Washington both of Florence, South Carolina; and a multitude of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
